The Jam On It Boys Program is under the direction of our founder Matt Williams. Coach Williams has over 25 years of experience in operating a high-level basketball program. All of our coaches withhold high standards of integrity, demeanor, and a strong fundamental background in the game of basketball.
Jam On It travel teams are coached by a staff with strong foundations in basketball fundamentals. Our coaches will assist each child in developing as a player and a teammate.
COACHING PHILOSOPHY:
  1. Creating an atmosphere of mutual respect between players and coaches. We will respect each others’ thoughts and opinions and thus foster a confidence in each other as well.
  2. Each person will be taught to take responsibility for their actions whether it be on or off  the court or in the classroom.
  3. Hard work is expected of all staff and team members. We will learn to be focused and intense during practice times.
  4. Positive reinforcement will be the norm for the coaching environment. It is our goal to build confidence in each player while we teach.
  5. Each coach must be a “motivator”! We will constantly draw on numerous verbal and behavioral strategies that will keep players fresh, playing well and working hard. We believe it is important to motivate on both a team and individual level. Ideally coaches should determine each players’ motivational needs before the playing season begins. Motivational talks during the season will be used to keep practices intense, yet fun and pre-game and post-game inspirational.
  6. We must foster a “Winning Mentality” from DAY ONE. Coaches and players will accentuate their successes and learn from their mistakes…there is always a way to learn from yesterdays mistakes.
  7. Consistency is the mark of a good team and of a good coach. We strive to be consistent in our coaching techniques and demands on our players.
